Imagine if all your payroll data could automatically be uploaded into payroll at the touch of a button – shifts, new employees, any pay item or scheme – and from any format Excel or CSV. that’s what our integration achieves. Update payroll in minutes, not hours, and as often as you wish. We believe this is the most advanced integration between spreadsheets and a payroll system. Integration features


We use 3 forms of Spreadsheet Upload:

  • Direct upload is the most basic form of upload – this would typically be used for simple Pay Items such as Salary, Bonus, Commission, Benefits etc. There is always a 1-to-1 relationship between each row in the spreadsheet and each item uploaded.
  • Data-feed uploads add a 2nd layer of intelligence. For example, you may need to upload multiple shifts per employee. In this case, the data feed will automatically use Shift 1 for the first shift and Shift 2 for the 2nd etc. You are not required to specify the Pay Items used there are automatic. Employees can also be uploaded in this way and a set of Pay Items from a Template employee can be added.
  • Bulk employee edits are a fast way of adding vertical columns to multiple employees – for example, if you want to make 25 employees leavers and you have a file with the leaving dates, these can be uploaded in one step,


Every data field is checked before being added to paiyroll®. For example, incorrect NI Numbers or mistyped bank sort-codes or account numbers are flagged early giving you maximum time to correct any errors.

New employees

Starters are automatically added with all the necessary details. We can also auto-number works_id if needed.

Update employees

All employee fields are updated every time including leavers

Template Employees

A Template employee can be setup to automatically add any standard Pay Items when adding new employees


New departments can be uploaded.


All salaries are synchronised. Adding a new salary, deleting a salary or changing a salary automatically makes the corresponding change in paiyroll®. Importantly, all in-period, future or backdated salary pay changes are automatically calculated by payroll®.

Non-Salary compensation

All other non-salary pay items e.g. Bonus, Commission, Accommodation, Car Allowance, Cycle to work, Health cash plan, Holiday Buy/Sell, Lift Assurance Flex, and Allowances are used to drive payroll.


Holiday booking synchronisation – new holidays, changed holidays and deleted holidays are all transferred into payroll. This means that when you set a leaver, the holiday scheme can be configured to automatically pay out or withhold any holiday balance or even at holiday year-end.


Unlimited number of non-cash benefits items can be synchronised. Multiple pension schemes with differing percentage % contribution and Salary Exchange, Net Pay Arrangement and Relief at Source types are supported. Other examples are health plans, life-assurance, child-benefit, vouchers etc.


Can be uploaded too.


The uploaders are designed to be run as often as required during the payroll cycle. Payroll changes are completed in minutes.

Unavailable fields

Unavailable fields like P45, Director, Irregularly paid, Off-Payroll Worker (OPW), and Employee A/B/C statement use a default when adding new employees. These can then be edited in paiyroll® and will not be over-written on the next update.

Direct uploaders support multiple companies (multiple PAYE references) in paiyroll® in one file.
