This article explains why you may receive email notifications from HMRC for interim, unapproved pay runs.
HMRC provide 3 servers for RTI:
Server | Pay run type | HMRC Notification | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Test | Redo | – | 99% of the time this is the test server used |
Test in live | Redo | E-mail – see example below | If the above server is unavailable, we may temporarily switch to this server |
Live | Approve | Always used |
Test in live e-mail notifications #
If you have notifications enabled for RTI submissions, you will receive an email every time you do a Pay run Redo if we have to switch to Test in live. Please be aware you will receive an email like the one below on every Redo to let you know it was only a TEST submission. Please do not confuse it with the usual live approved email.
Redo and Approval of pay runs are unaffected. If you approve a pay run, you will receive the usual filing notification and a 2nd TEST notification for the next interim pay run.
